Special Songs

Today’s prompt:

Songs that have meant something special this year.

  1. Jehovah Jireh. This song has been a special favourite for the last month or so. I don’t know why, but this song is really beautiful and true. (Please note that I do not sing it through as many times as they have it written out there! :))
  2. There Were Ninety and Nine. This has been an all-time favourite. And I love the story behind how the music was written! Dad has referred to it a lot. (You can read the story, in Ira Sankey’s own words, at the link at the beginning of this paragraph.)
  3. How Deep the Father’s Love for Us. No words, really. It’s just…beautiful.
  4. I’ll Fly Away. This has always been a favourite. I especially love it when Dad sings the bass bit!
  5. I Am not Skilled to Understand. You can read my thoughts on this song at the ink.
  6. Teach Me How to Pray. Not really a song as such to sing, but I love this still the same. It’s sad, but at the same time it’s a good reminder for all of us.

  7. Face to Face. Another long-time favourite!

Alright. If you know me at all, you’ll know that that was simple! :) I love singing! :)

Writing went well. I was just looking at my stats today, and it was like, wow. I’ve gone this far and I haven’t really had a block-up? Last year at this time I was seriously in trouble, and wondering if I’d ever win! It’s got to be God. I’m still very interested in the story, and it’s flowing pretty smoothly, as well! Wow. God’s good.

  1. I really like the day-by-day thankful posts. You mentioned above that you got prompted. Who is providing your themes? Is there someone saying "Ok, everyone post on the letter E today!"
