This year for November, I’m participating in:
- NaNoWriMo (okay, that’s obvious if you look at the sidebar)
- KBR Ministry’s GiveThanks! x7 challenge
- GreaThings from the 13th – 27th of November.
Okay. That should be enough to keep me nice and busy. ;)
So, first things first: the GiveThanks challenge. Each day during the month of November, I’m supposed to write down seven things I’m thankful for. Once the GreaThings thing comes around, I’ll just incorporate that into the GiveThanks challenge. And I wish I had kept a journal from writing during NaNo last year, but I didn’t. So I’m hoping I can do that this year. I’m not making any promises about anything, but I’d like to try. I’ll try to do it. :)
My thankful list. Thank you, God, for:
The sunshine. It was rainy this morning, but it cleared up around n00n—so beautiful to see!
- My funny brothers. Especially the one (Simon) who is currently raising about twenty oak seedlings (he found them today under our young oak tree).
- Bird song. I got to listen to an entire orchestra today while doing school!
- Enough time to write today. I know I won’t always have this privilege, but I’m very thankful I was able to get a lot written today.
- Flowers. We’ve got a beautiful rose sitting on the kitchen windowsill right now. And all the roses along the walk are coming out in full bloom. They’re lovely—and smell heavenly! Great for a 30-second holiday. :)
- Stars. I’d have to say that my favourite time of the day is at night. Everything is so still, so quiet. Birds are giving their last goodnight twitters. The world smells fresh. It’s just so peaceful and relaxing.
- This wallpaper. It fits perfectly with what I’m feeling at the moment, what with my excitement and fear about NaNo starting, and what it might bring me. Click on the picture above (or the link) and you can see/download it.
Writing this first day of NaNoWriMo has gone very well today. By the grace of God, I was able to write 2,520 words and gotten through the first chapter of the book. I’ll be doing a lot of adding to that first bit, because it’s just the bare bones, but it’s a start and I’m really excited about what’s coming next. The book has started with a bang, and I’m feeling kinda sorry for my MC. It will be interesting to see how chapter two pans out. Over all, this first day was very, very good.
Have a great day!
~Esther
I'm pleased to hear that your first day went well! And surprised to hear that you are juggling three things, this November, too. :) 2,520 words - a whole chapter is a big achievement! How many are you up to now?
ReplyDeleteJust got an update up. :)
DeleteYou are brave, the thought of NaNoWriMo scares me a lot!
ReplyDeleteWell, thanks Clare. I did it last year, though, and it wasn't that bad. This time I am trying to write 20,000 more words than last time, though, so it is a bit harder. :)
