GreaThings day 7: “T”

Today’s prompt:

Things that start with the letter “T”.

  1. Turkeys. I love the colours of the wild ones in the states, and their meat is delicious! Especially turkey ham and sausage…yum.
  2. The Wolf Dog. It’s a story by Ken Anderson. We have an audio version of the book, and I love listening to it! A very good story for children, although in the end it might be a bit intense for really young listeners.
  3. Tools. We in the western world are surrounded by tools wherever we turn. But those in the 3rd-world countries aren’t as privileged. As one person said, “Westerners complain about not having the computer charger in the same room as you, while people in 3rd-world countries have no food to give their babies.” (Well, to that effect anyway—it’s in my own words.)
  4. Touch typing. I’m so thankful that Mum made me practice typing those sentences over and over and over when I was 7 or 8! It makes life so much easier now!
  5. Time. And things to measure it with. I would be lost without clocks!
  6. Turmeric. It’s such a cheerful coloured spice, and it’s supposed to be really good for you as well!
  7. Tomatoes! I love making tomato sandwiches in the summer. To make it, spread a piece of bread with mayonnaise, placed slice tomatoes on, and then sprinkle on some salt and freshly ground pepper. Bliss. :) I’m not usually a huge fan of mayonnaise, but I do like it with this!

We went to writing group today (which was really fun!), and didn’t get home until around five this evening. But even so I was able to get 1,256 words pounded out! :) Thank you, Lord! This part of the story (so far) is flowing very smoothly. I’m VERY thankful for that, especially because it’s week three, and compared to last year…well, there’s really no comparison. I’m also positive that people are praying for me (Mum, for one—thanks, Mum!). I’m sure that’s really helped.

I figured out this afternoon that I only need to write 600–some per day until the end of the month to reach my goal. But I figured out yesterday that if I work really hard, I can finish by the end of this week! So we’ll see how it all works out. :) Only 15%—7,227 words to go! I know I won’t finish the book in that few words (well, it doesn’t look like it at this point, anyway…), but hopefully I can get it all written before NaNo ends. :)
