Day 5: Friends

Today has been full. But overflowing  with blessings, in many ways. Here are just a few of them. I’m very thankful for:

  1. Our homeschool writing group. I know I’ve grown a lot since we started going there, and it’s been very good to make friends there.
  2. Another warm spring day.
  3. A short (15 min.) walk with one of my good friends.
  4. A cool river to ford on our walk. It was so nice for the feel of cool water after being in the warmth of the sun!
  5. Being with a friend-of-a-friend I’d only met once before. We met again today, so that was special!
  6. Girl time. :) I don’t really get much of that here at home, with my six brothers! It was very special, even though we didn’t talk about anything of much importance. It was nice to just take some time to talk about little things and relax. :)
  7. A warm evening. It’s cloudy, but I see some gold in the west as I type. We’re expecting friends to come over for Bible study sometime tonight, but it looks like they might not be coming after all since they’re already pretty late. Two of the boys are bouncing on the trampoline, another one is on the porch, and Mum is taking the chance to do some much needed weeding.

Writing has gone well today considering we were away from early this morning until about 3:30 – 4:00 this afternoon. I was able to write 2,509, bringing my total up to 11,650 all together—23.3% of the way! God is good.

I wasn’t sure how it would go today, since I started about 3:45 or so. But by 7:00 (after taking a fairly long break half way through), I had met my goal! I was happy about that. :)

Okay. My brothers are playing monkey in the middle at the moment, and I think I want to join, so I’ll leave it at this. Over all, today was lovely. And I loved it being so warm! :)

  1. Warm sun? We had drizzle for most of the day (and cloud.) :\
'Girl time' is nice, yes even when you are blessed with 3 sisters (they aren't always there to talk to.) :)

    1. Oh, it was beautiful--warm and sunny--all day yesterday! So you've had cloud for two days now...hopefully it will clear out and you'll get some sunshine soon?

I've never had a sister. Although my cousins (who lived about 500 feet from us) were there in the States for 5 years (until we moved), it still wasn't the same. The closest I ever came to having a kind-of sisterly time was when a young Christian woman came to stay with us for a week right after Joe was born. Such sweet times I remember then! :)
