Book Sorting and Encouraging Posts

Today’s cloudy and rainy, but wetter than yesterday. We’ve all mostly stuck to the house, although some of the boys are outside practicing casting with their fishing lines.

Today, I’m thankful for:

  1. My youngest brother. He asked me for cheese this afternoon, and I offered him some homemade cheese. He refused, and I went back to my job. Meanwhile, he went to the fridge and got out the store  bought chunk of cheese!  Smart little tyke. At the moment he’s singing out of a songbook that’s just his size—and upside down.
  2. Paper to write on.
  3. Games to play.
  4. My laptop—I use it so much for so many different things!
  5. Towels, to dry things with.
  6. Eggs. Especially the ones with really orange yolks (not pale yellow) that stand up straight.
  7. Ducks. They come in such a variety of colours, and they’re so fun to watch when they play in puddles!

Writing went well again today. I wrote 2,748 words today, bringing my total up to exactly 17,000. So far, I’ve been amazed at how God’s helped me come up with ideas! :) I  brought my villain into the story again today. I have him in the first chapter, but since then he’s only been a memory to be hated. But I brought him in, and he and the MC had a wonderful clash. It was so fun to write! :) Especially since I feel I know him really well, and every time he turns up there’s trouble. :)

Today, Mum’s been sorting through some of our books in preparation for moving. She decided that we don’t need some of the books that we’ll never read, and we don’t need to do all the sorting just a few weeks before we move, so we’ll get some of it out of the way now. So far, we have four growing stacks on top my computer desk for getting rid of.

I just hope there isn’t an earthquake when I’m sitting here working. :)

This morning, we were talking and Simon realised that depending on where we move he might not be able to take his animals with him. After hearing that, he wants to move to a farm way off in the boonies somewhere that’s an hour or so from the main road so he can keep them.

For myself, I don’t really care what kind of place we’ll be on. I do know that I want a place where the boys can be boys—a place where they’ve got room to explore so they won’t be housebound all the time. But other than that, I just want whatever God’s will is. No matter where we are, I know we’ll be together and that will be good.

Yesterday, Mum was reading a book about modern day miracles she got online. It was put together by someone in Toronto, Canada, and the second story was by someone we know here in NZ! We thought that was pretty special, considering the fact that with us having to move, it will be interesting to see how God works in our lives to do His purposes in the coming months.

Isn’t it amazing how God can have us read things at the perfect time in our lives? These posts came through today, and each one spoke to me about something that’s been going on in my life lately. I pray you’ll be encouraged like I was!:

In Christ,
~Esther
