Day 8. I’m Still Writing!

Today, I’m thankful for:

  1. Vehicles to ride in.
  2. Fresh herbs.
  3. Delicious soup.
  4. Brothers who invent things.
  5. My Christian heritage.
  6. Our animals, that provide so many things for us we’d have to otherwise pay a lot to get.
  7. Internet.

You know, it’s amazing the things you come to appreciate when you don’t have them. Our internet turned off this morning, and after almost two hours we were able to get it back on. But now it’s off again tonight. It’s amazing how many things we use the internet for!

Writing went well today. The first 1,500 – 2,000 words were really fast-paced and scary, so I didn’t have a problem writing them. But the last 500 words were a LOT slower and not very good. I’m glad I’ll have another chance tomorrow! All together today, I got 2,630 words, bringing the total up to 19,630. The NaNo website is predicting that I’ll finish by the 22nd if I keep going like I am. I’d like to. I’m just not sure about this next part.

I got from point A to B on the first quarter of the book, now that I’m at point A in the second quarter I need to find a way to get to B with out being boring. Not that I want it to be heart-racing action all the time because that would seem wrong and unnatural, but because I do want to show, not tell it. I love this kind of art, and it’s actually something that I can envision in my head and transfer onto paper! Well, mostly. A lot better than I can do at painting or drawing, anyway.

So far, I’m very happy with my progress, and it’s gone a whole lot better than I ever imagined. God is good. I think I can trust Him to show me what to write next. I’m kinda scared about what tomorrow will bring, because I have hardly any idea what I’ll write about. But, like I said, He’s faithful. :)

I started editing JOJ Issue #8 today. I’ve read through it once, and found a few mistakes. I’ll get those corrected tomorrow, perhaps. I found the editorial (that I wrote on Monday, I think) quite…reprimanding. Well, maybe not reprimanding. But very thought-provoking, and it meant even more to me than it did when I wrote it. It was very true, a very good reminder. I hope you can read it soon. :)

Well, it’s almost 10 pm. I should probably head for bed. Hopefully the internet will be on in the morning so I can post this! :)
