| My favorite reading place |
I can remember when I was younger (like maybe six years old?), I would take Return to Gone-Away to bed with me, and read and read and read. Back then, I hadn't read the first book (Gone-Away Lake), and the words didn't make much sense. Now, though, I can appreciate the book a lot better. It's amazing that a few years can make a difference in our understanding what we read.
| Reading "in" bed (okay, I guess I'm cheating on this photo. I actually lay down more than half the time when I'm reading in bed. When I'm reading in bed like this, it's usually when I have something I really need to get done, but want to finish the chapter first!!!) |
I can read about anywhere. In the van, out on the lawn under a tree... Reading has to be one of my favorite ways of passing the time, (yes, I know! Time passes fast anyway!) and is profitable, too. I love reading God's Word, because then I feel closer to Him. As the Bible says, "Draw nigh to God, and he will draw nigh to you." (James 4:8a) It is His personal letter to me, and through it I get a lot of encouragement to stay a "Joyful Maiden". I praise the LORD daily for giving me the ability to read!
Thank you for sharing, Esther! Your bed does look like a really cozy reading place, for sure. :)
ReplyDeleteIt is, I can assure you! :)
DeleteI love it when I can re-read a book a get something new out of it... So fun! Your bed looks like a delightful place. :)
ReplyDeleteHow lovely to have so much natural light in your room! Thanks for joining our link-up!
ReplyDeleteHi, I'm just stopping by from the YLCF March link-up. I love how much sunlight that just floods into your room from the big windows. Ah! I'm excited that you're reading the Elsie Dinsmore books... I love them! I've now read my way up to book 22. Martha Finley is an author that I'll cherish forever! We have a Kindle too, and it has added so many new books to our "library" that I'd never had the chance to read before... old classics and out-of-print books that you just can't purchase. I really enjoyed your post!
ReplyDeleteBlessings,
~ Tarissa
