The Fun of Coding

Since we've gotten a computer, I've found more and more that I LIKE CODING. I love making things picture-perfect by playing with how they look, and finding the right "look". Part of my job as editor for the magazine me and a friend put together is setting the fonts just right, playing with their alignment, etc.

But now I've hit on one of the most fun things for school yet--www.codecademy.com. You get to play with codes, make pop-up messages, (oh, yeah. Watch out, people!) etc. etc.

Another website (that I haven't totally looked into yet, but it looks like it would help me) is www.w3schools.com/. They have VIDEOS (yes, you read that right!) about how to do lots of different stuff to make your website "you".  (Oh, by the way--I love videos. I get so much more out of them than reading something.)

Anyway, what I was gonna tell you about today is how I fixed a blog button. (Yeah, a blog button!) I wanted to put the button from the Lillies Among Thorns Magazine website on my blog. Well, their code was wrong. It didn't want to show up as a button. So....y'know what I did? (Yes, I'm probably boring you stiff. Sorry.) I took my button code, and their code, and made their code "match" my code. And... it worked! (And it was a lot of fun in the process).

So, I guess sometimes it is nice to know a little about coding, and it's fun, too. If you're interested, visit the websites--they're all free!

Have a good day!
