A slight mix-up

One of my assignments today was: "Research any court cases that have been tried in your state with regard to the Creation – Evolution debate and their outcome." Well, I couldn't find any for New Zealand, so... I did U.S. Wasn't hard to find something!
---------------------------------
In 1968, a court case called “Epperson v. Arkansas” came about because of the Creation/Evolution debate that has been going on from before Darwin wrote “The Origin of Species”. In this court case, the US Supreme Court ruled that the teaching of human evolution “violated” the First Amendment to the Constitution. It was “unconstitutional”. No one was allowed to teach human evolution.

In 1981, just 13 years after the above ruling, another court case was held. The judge at the time, Judge William Overton, decided that creation science is religion and not science at all. Then, in 1987, 6 years later, creation was ruled “unconstitutional” – 19 years before, evolution was “unconstitutional”. Now creation is “unconstitutional”.
