Six Gifts

My gifts of today (doing the August Joy Dare, by Ann Voskamp--just remembered it today!):

3 gifts ugly:
  1. Earwax. It helps protect my ear drum.
  2. Poo--chicken, cow, horse--you name it, it's ugly. But it makes the garden look lovely.
  3. A clipped wing. Ugly, mutilated. But it protects the bird--can't fly off and be eaten by a predator.

3 gifts beautiful:
  1. Sunset after a cool day. Warmth from the last beams, touching the hills with hues of purple and blue flood your being. Making you glad to be alive.
  2. The "kisses" and coos of a happy baby. The eagerness for learning new things. The love for light he shows. Oh, that I might be more child-like! More trusting.
  3. A good book and a warm blanket with peaceful music playing in the background. (even though this rarely happens! :D)

3 comments:

  1. I don't know how beautiful manure looks on a garden, but its certainly beautiful for the flowers.

  3. Yes, Tiffy--it certainly does do wonders! In the states, we would put the left over blood, guts, etc. in the compost heap and after a long time spread it on the garden. Made LOVELY dirt!
