My Trip to the States—Part 4

Have you missed any so far—Part 1, Part 2, or Part 3?

Monday evening, Aunt Rebecca and Uncle Terrill opened our gifts, because we wouldn’t be able to see them do it otherwise! How fun! :)

Grandma gave them a beautiful quilt!

It was also really pretty in black and white.

  Tuesday, it snowed!

 It was so pretty.

Nathan found a table and chair his height! He was so excited!

One night, my uncles and cousins found a remote-controlled car to use. It was fun watching them, but we could only get a picture from the window before they came in!

FRIDAY:
Mum says: Friday involved going back and forth to the gym where the reception was to be held, several times. Esther spent a lot of Thursday and some more time Friday, on her computer designing place cards, guest book pages, and the program. Friday we ate lunch at the gym, and Uncle Tom, Linda, and Lisa, who had just arrived, were with us. That afternoon we were able to finish the decorations and get the programs ready, with an hour or so to spare before rehearsal!
Rehearsal was, of course, in the church, and as funny as everything is which Bill M------ and Galen B----- are involved with. I hope someone took a video of rehearsal! Rebecca had invited a lot of friends to the rehearsal dinner, which made an interesting evening.
Ahh…preparing for the wedding. This is what occupied the last two days before “the DAY”. We worked the most in the gym where the reception was to be held. Here, my uncle-to-be, Terrill, is working on putting up the tulle in the first step of covering up the basketball hoops.

Aunt Miranda was the head florist. Here she’s making the flower girls’ baskets.

She made them beautifully!

  Taking lunch break.

Putting up the balloons (see Uncle Terrill way up there?).

 All finished!

Working on the draping behind the bridal table.

In between decorating, we enjoyed getting to know some family members again.

The little girls enjoyed their own corner! :)

Uncle Terrill and Aunt Rebecca. We used my computer A LOT during that time getting everything designed!

I made these place cards—just one of several things that had to be made and printed right before the day!

Uncle Terrill’s mum and one of my aunts.

 Cousin Kirk

 My youngest cousin—she’s SO cute!

 Aww…what a sweetie! :)

Uncle Tom and Aunt Linda, with cousins Laura and Kirk. They’re looking at the books we put together about our time here in New Zealand.

Grandma, Nathan and Elizabeth, the night before the wedding. We were all worn out, but even so we still made wonderful memories! :)
Okay. I’ll be back later with part 5—the wedding! :)

  1. So fun to see your Grandma's lap so full. I remember when it was full of your uncles. :)

  2. I LOVE your posts and pictures about your trip to the States! I've never been further than Australia so seeing photos from someone who has actually been there is kinda mind boggling!
Keep it up. Looking forward to seeing the wedding photos. :-)

  3. Oh wow, Rebecca--that was a long time ago! :)

I'm looking forward to the wedding post, too, Bonnie. :) I have the pictures uploaded. All I have to do now is insert them into the post and add the text.
