A while ago, someone remarked that “There’s a quail sitting out on the fence!” And so there was! It stayed around for several weeks, too. I can’t remember how long it’s been since I’ve heard it call (it has a very distinct call), but I wouldn’t be all that surprised to hear that it is still around.
We’ve really enjoyed having a quail around. They’re such small birds, but it isn’t just every day you have one hanging around outside!
I was very glad for the zoom on my camera—I’d never have been able to get these pictures without it!

ReplyDeleteWhat was the title? Because if it is A Storm in My Heart, then that's the short story that I wrote back in July and recently finished editing. :) I've just started editing the novel.
