Saturday Spotlight #6

Fourteen-year-old Zev Hoover on “Good Morning America”
Some of the pictures this fellow comes up with are so neat! :) (follow-up from last post on this blog)

The Box
This is a very, very good testimony—and I wouldn’t be surprised at all if it wasn’t true. “They that seek the Lord shall not want any good thing.” How true this is! And yet, how often we are just like the doubting Israelites in the wilderness. How patient Jesus is!

Six Reasons to Take Six Weeks Off From Your First Draft
I’ll have to remember this when I finish NaNoWriMo at the end of November. It looks helpful. :)

Devoted to Devotions
This is really, really good. I really appreciated it. (Even if it IS old!)

3 Daily Disciplines for a College Girl
I’m not in college, but this is really helpful anyway. Good points here.

Pinteresting Wednesday {We Need Three Things}
I love this quote!

No Plot? No Problem!: 3 Things to Keep In Mind While Brainstorming
This was really helpful to read, since I’m currently brainstorming my next NaNo novel. A very good—but short!—read. :)

How to Edit Your Novel
This looks like it will be extremely helpful when I’m editing!

Free Downloads for Teen Writers
This is very, very useful. I’ll definitely be using the “Story Brainstorming Questions” in this next week as I prepare my next NaNo novel!

Soaked Granola
This is actually really yummy! It’s in the oven right now, finishing drying. I think next time I’ll want to put some more cinnamon and possibly other spices in, and make it with Old Fashioned oatmeal instead of Quick oatmeal.

Storyworld Building: Creating Religion
This will be really helpful to refer back to—I’m going to have both Judaism and Christianity in my novel, and there will be conflicts in there. A very interesting read!

Plotting, Pantsing & Plantsing by Stephanie Morrill
I think I’d consider myself a “plantser”. I love doing pantsing, but it doesn’t always work for me. Some good tips here!

Young Ladies at Crossroads: Should You Stay at Home or Attend College?
I agree with what she says here—and appreciate the fact that she stresses that we should follow God’s calling.

The Invisible Battle at the Texas Capitol Building
Fighting the good fight…very good thoughts. And I love the story about being pro-life!

His Footsteps in the Sea
A very good quote. Good thoughts.

Why You Should Never, Ever Use Two Spaces Between Sentences
Pretty funny subject, but interesting to read.

That’s it for this week! What was your favourite article?

  1. Hi Esther,

Thanks for stopping by my blog! I enjoyed reading your comment, and it was interesting that you mentioned you want to go in nursing, because that's what I'm studying right now :) Pray for me as I'll have a test on Wednesday.
