My latest project was one that is involved with gearing up for NaNoWriMo. It’s an encouragement calendar for November. You see, my idea is that each day I’ll flip a new page and have a new inspirational Bible verse and encouragement. And then I’ll be more encouraged to go on and get those 2,400 words written.
This is compiled with writers in mind, for encouragement to go ahead and keep on writing even when they don’t feel like it. But I think it would be encouraging for non-writers as well.
I made two versions. The original, which is just the pages, and then a ring-bound version which has some of the pages flipped and all arranged for quicker, more efficient printing. My first idea was to make a stand-up calendar, but after trying to make it work I decided a ring-bound option would be a lot better.
Here’s how to make the ring bound calendar:
- Print out the ring-bound version double-sided, with four pages per side (I printed it in greyscale, to save ink).
- Cut out each page (I used our paper cutter, and cut all the pages at once).
- Sort the pages, putting them in order. Then punch a hole in the top left-hand corner of all of them (I used our paper puncher, and was able to do the whole stack at once).
- Snap a ring through the hole.
- Each day, flip a new page for fresh inspiration, and when you’ve gotten to the end turn the whole thing over and do the back pages!
So there you have it. My latest creation. Want to get a calendar yourself? Here are the PDF files:
- The Original Version (full colour, A4 pages)
- The ‘Ring Bound’ Version (full colour, A4 pages, pages arranged to print properly)
If you have any problems, feel free to ask!
May you have a blessed day!
