I've got a {BIG} problem.

I'm supposed to write a short story. 1-2 pages. Easy, right?

NO.

The problem? It's been so long since I've written a "short" story that I've almost forgotten how to!

All the plots I've come up with so far are almost too complex, too much for a short story! Help!!!

I remember the day when writing even a paragraph was the worst work anyone could ever make someone do! Now I'm choking at two pages, wishing I could just get a novel out! (well, something longer than a two-page story, anyway...)

Oh, well. I guess they say the worst thing a writer could do when writing a story is procrastinate, and that's exactly what I'm doing. So I'd better crack the whip on myself and get those two pages written (or however many they turn out to be.... ) Smiley

  1. there's no harm in rewriting -remember that. I can NEVER write short stories, it's sooo frustrating that you can't. get. that. AWESOME. plot. in.

but this post gave me a really interesting idea... you know how you are *meant* (heehee wince) to write every day well you should not only do looonnnng stories but do short ones as a break (and an imagination out let ... maybe?

  2. I know, no harm in re-writing... the problem is I always write as if I wasn't going to edit! Something I need to work on, I guess.

I've written about 300 words so far, hopefully I can finish it today. It's going well so far, I just hope I don't get long-winded and end up with a novel! :)

Hmm...wonder if I'd say that in real life? :) Anyway, somehow it got done. I'll try to put a post on tomorrow about it. (it probably helped that Mum told me I could have no tea until I got it done....) ;)
