Bye-bye

Well, it's 5:15 pm and I still haven't started packing. Oh, well.

We'll be flying on one of these planes twice out of the
four different planes we'll ride on.

I just looked at the weather report, and it says it'll be cloudy tomorrow. Possibly raining in Auckland when we fly in. Oh, well. I was hoping for clear skies, but I guess I just need to accept it. Maybe, though, we'll see a rainbow instead! I can only hope....

We need to leave home at 9:00 tomorrow morning. Even though we don't fly out until 3:00, we're planning to go to church about forty-five minutes south of here, in a little village where we usually start out the annual Dead Boring (home-school writing group) bike hike. There's a church there we're planning to visit.

After church (we'll have to leave promptly at 12 pm to get to the airport by 1!), we take off. On a really, really, really long journey (25 hours + a little). The journey is all going to be in one day, though. So we'll land in our destination only 9 hours after we start off! Isn't that amazing? :) Well...not quite like that, but it will look like it on the clock. We take off (from Christchurch) at 3:05 pm, Sunday the 24th, and we arrive in Michigan at 11:20 pm, Sunday the 24th! I think we'll feel a little more tired, though, than if we were only travelling 9 hours in reality.

Well, I'd better stop rambling. You probably didn't understand half of it, anyway. I'm afraid I'm a little too excited--or terrified--or something to think straight anymore. I just hope I get a good sleep tonight!!!

~Esther Rose,
about ready to step out on the 2nd-biggest trip in her lifetime.

P.S. If you think about it, please remember to pray for us. One of our connections only has about 30 minutes for us to make! Thankfully, we aren't going through immigration or customs on that part, but we will be REALLY tired, and possibly not thinking straight. So your prayers would be very appreciated.
